Seventy-Fifth Birthday

The 75th birthday was celebrated by constructing Mahila Mandal Building (Women Group) in the village. Based on the availability, the meetings were conducted in the school premises, open grounds, veranda of member’s house or under the shade of a tree.This building will also be used to organize awareness and skill training camps and setting up some small scale industries to provide employment to village women. The maintenance will be under the supervision of the village women’s committee.

On July 20th, 2015 the Building was inaugurated by Pragathi youth council members in presence of board members. In appreciation of the initiative in the village to empower the women in the village, they garlanded Dr Agrawal and his family who were present on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, he advised the women to use the building for all their meeting and training needs. He asked women to work collectively in their own interest. He also asked women to promise to send their children to school regularly, use toilets in the village, send youth for skill training and employment and work towards overall development of the village. Ms Sumana, the village head, also addressed on various issues  and asked the women to use the building wisely, maintain cleanliness, send their kids to schools, stop drinking liquor. Pragathi members had long interaction with villagers and inspired them to work towards village development.
