Growing up in middle class families, we had reasonable resources and opportunities, with access to quality education, extracurricular activities, and support of family and friends. We were rather oblivious to the challenges faced by those living in poverty. Gradually, it dawned upon us that the combination of poverty, illiteracy and lack of resources had a paralyzing effect on thinking, leading to a vicious cycle, one difficult to break through. In this scenario, to do nothing, we felt, would be inhumane. We decided to do our bit in helping out the underprivileged.

For over two decades now, we have dedicated our lives to support the marginalized. We co-founded a nonprofit organization with the idea of helping those in need and started building teams and collaborations to fulfill our vision at the grassroots level. In 2013, we decided to donate one salary from the household annually for five years, renewable at the end of the term. We have endeavored to provide help cutting across religious, racial, caste, linguistic, gender, political and socio-cultural divides and biases to bring dignity and cheer to the underprivileged, mostly in remote rural underserved communities with very few resources.

Overcoming several challenges, we have created sustained impact in some communities. We wish to scale up our efforts to support many more underprivileged globally.

We applaud everyone working towards making this world a better place. For the sake of humanity, we hope we can all join hands and create a movement for global progress. What can be better than peacefully supporting the underserved with limited resources, while seeking only calmness of our minds ?

"Overcoming poverty is not a gesture of charity. It is an act of justice."  -  Nelson Mandela
