2015

School:

  • Classroom in Kasireddyguda inaugurated

  • Skits on social causes performed by students on Republic Day

  • Computer training completed for 15 students

  • Summer camp for computer literacy, spoken english classes, maths and storytelling

  • Students sent to interschool competition at Raikal village where our students won prizes

  • Orientation program done in Nerellacheruvu school

  • Tyagi education improvement program started with employment of a manager and developing new team under Mr Gunaranjan from You See

  • Visit of Dr Alok Agrawal, family and team, and orientation program on education, health and skill development programs for 3 weeks

  • Student Empowerment Training by Mr Surya Padala in Burgula high school and collaboration developed to improve education standards with new programs

  • Distributed 126 bicycles so far to students in Burgula high school

  • 6 laptops given in School to enable speedy work

  • “Understanding Science Concepts” easy to do science experiments by Mr Srinivas at Burgula high school to make science more understandable and appealing

  • Science experiments based on school syllabus by Dr Reddy Labs in Burgula high school and village cleanup

  • Additional spoken english classes at Burgula high school

  • Beautification of School Premises in Kasireddyguda and Burgula started with cleanup, planting of trees, closure of open drainage outside school premises, new toilets

  • An awareness campaign on “Healthy and Hygiene practices” for school kids at Nerella Cheru and Burgula and for women in Kasireddyguda by Dr Renuka Basavarju a practising rheumatologist in US and Ms Anita a high school student from USA

  • Distribution of 1st and 2nd prizes for prior academic year performances for 6-10 classes on August 15

  • Hired two more volunteers for education improvement

  • We had a door grill built to protect the computer lab

  • We got one printer(B&W) for the computer lab

Village:

  • 40 Sewing Machines donated to women in Kasireddyguda and 32 in Nerella Cheruvu

  • School uniforms stitching project supported in the village

  • 25 Sewing Machines setup at APBIRED to facilitate training in tailoring 

  • Financial assistance given to four women to setup dairy, tent business and a general store

  • Construction of Mahila Mandal building

  • Water Treatment plant for 5000 people started in Burgula Village

  • Mahalingeshwara temple at Kasiredyguda renovated

  • Village clean up and segregated waste collection started in Kasireddyguda Village.

  • Developed partnership with Engineer without Borders, a nonprofit organization

  • Partnership developed with Wheels Global Foundation, a NPO

  • Partnership with YouSee, another NPO, developed

  • Introduced villagers to Cosmos for new farming techniques

  • Motivational visit by Dr Prakasam Tata from USA

  • Visits by Dr Ashok Agarwal, Mr Madhu Reddy and Mr Ruyintan Mehta

  • Increased employment to12 people in the village

  • Started Village Sarpanch Development Advance Fund

  • Training in driving given to 55 youth totally

  • Three youths sent for TOT (training of trainers) program on rural livelihoods

  • Two boys and eight girls sent to various skill training programs like tailoring, beautician and zardosi work.

  • Mahila Mandal building with a toilet inaugurated.

  • Asthma camp and free medicine distribution in Burgula by Dr Vishnun Rao of Swasa Foundation

  • Two more boys sent for training in APBIRED

  • Flag  hoisting for driving School for 25 more youth - total 75 youth

  • Sewing machines distribution - 25 plus 47 in Burgula - total of 72 in July and August - now totalling 144 machines to empower women

  • Connect program between a  textile unit in Hyderabad and village women after which 7 girls sent to work at the unit and 37 women signed up for employment in village

  • Connect program between a Jute bag stitching unit in Shadnagar to enable undertaking work at Shadnagar and the village

  • Visits by Drs Venkatshiva and Arti, experts in in preventive medicine to ensure proper implementation of preventive medicine projects.

  • Employment provided to two youth through clean drinking water project

  • Three days health and hygiene awareness program by Dr Basavaraju, a rheumatologist, and her daughter Ms Anita from Dallas, Texas, for Kashireddyguda women

  • Extra 5 gallons cans bought for water supply.

  • Monthly village cleanup program started in Kashireddyguda

  • In collaboration with Reddy Labs, village clean up activity in Burgula

  • Antismoking program done in Hyderabad city in several schools by Ms Shubhi Pathak from California, USA

  • Developed program with Mr Ramgopal Sannidhi to inspire youth to go to National Academy of Construction for skill training and employment
